As long as there are celebrities trading on their looks, there will be fad diets and hip workouts to ensure they keep their waistlines trim.

But this one is weird, even for a celebrity. Apparently, Lady GaGa has drawn inspiration from our little ones and pioneered a new way of losing weight: the baby food diet.

Gross. I mean, maybe its different when you’re  mom and you’ve just spent six months shoveling that stuff into your infant’s mouth, washing it out of bibs and onesies and your own work clothes,  learning to put up with the not-quite-right look and smell of pureeed chicken in a jar. But if I never have to see that stuff again, I’ll be thrilled. And she’s eating it? Willingly? Ugh.

The other obvious point is that she is starving herself. Because unless she is eating about thirty-forty of those little jars a day, no way is she coming close to the calories that she needs to function, let alone sing and dance on-stage. Indeed, it sounds like those close to her are worried.

“She’s not eating healthily at all.  She’s substituting meals for jars of baby food,” a source told Heat Magazine.

A word of advice for Lady GaGa: treat your body better. It’s the only one you’ve got. And life is too short to spend on pureed foods. Even my toddlers know better.
