We have a list of celebs who opted for medicine-free, no epidural births. Disclaimer: I don’t find forgoing an epidural heroic. To each her own. I had an epidural for what was supposed to be a standard delivery of twins that turned into an emergency C-section. Bring on the meds, I say!  But here are a few who chose not to — and good for them if that’s how they wanted to do it.

1) Gisele Bundchen, who gave birth in the bathtub with no meds says “it didn’t hurt in the slightest.”  Heck, mine hurt with drugs. But I’m not a supermodel.  Maybe that makes a difference.

2) Jessica Alba: “I didn’t scream. It was really Zen.” Cash Warren verifies, “She didn’t make a sound.”

3) Mayim Bialik: The attachment parenting advocate says her older son watched “from his high chair while eating granola” the birth of her second son. “He got freaked out by the blood but it was still nice.”  (I don’t make up the quotes, folks.)

For the full story with more perspective from the natural birth moms, including Melissa Joan Hart and Pamela Anderson (I wonder if Tommy Lee was similarly drug-free at the time?) go here.  The article also discusses who chose C-sections and why.  Good piece!
