Cameron Douglas Apologizes To Family
Michael Douglas’ son Cameron, who was facing a ten year minimum, had the book lightly thrown at him yesterday receiving a five year sentence for drug charges. Could it have been the letters from dad, grandpa Kirk and step mom Catherine Zeta-Jones?
In court, he admitted he was sober for the first time in his adult life and gave his mea culpa, stating:
“Firstly, I would like to apologize to my family and my loved ones for putting them through this nightmare of my making – and for my behaviors that have caused a rift between us in the past,” he told the Judge.
“But I would like to ask you for an opportunity to be a productive family member and a good role model to my brothers and sisters… Nothing, Your Honour, is more important to me than my family and the goals that I have set for myself, and I feel adamant that I will not let myself be led astray by my warped thinking and false pretences due to my long heroin addiction.”
He is lucky his family has been ultra-supportive through his ordeal. Let’s hope when he gets out of the slammer he stays true to his words, stays clean, and sets a sober example for his two half siblings, Dylan Michael Douglas and Carys Zeta Douglas.
