After you’ve had a baby and you’re home from the hospital, the last thing you want to do is have to cook your own meals. The other thing you don’t want, those extra pounds you gained while pregnant. New mothers in Hollywood have been pretty darn lucky. They have been able to rely on Freshology’s FreshMommy program. Freshology is a home-delivery meal service that brings fresh, healthy, gourmet meals right to your door. The FreshMommy service has helped some very famous moms to get back in shape after the birth of their babies. Some of the celebrities who lived and lost on FreshMommy?

Jennifer Lopez, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Melanie Brown, Ricki Lake, Jenna Elfman and Busy Philipps.  Busy said of the line, “The food is amazing and having it delivered lets me focus on more important things- like my adorable baby girl!” And Sarah Michelle Gellar said that “Fresh Mommy saved me. I can’t imagine having the time to make well balanced meals for myself as well as taking care of my newborn.”

Until now, FreshMommy was only available to those lucky Los Angeles moms, but now FreshMommy is going national.

The FreshMommy meal plan includes dishes that are balanced for proper nutrition – especially for nursing moms – while providing a safe and also effective way to lose weight.  This plan has more of a caloric load than Freshology’s other plans, since nursing moms need those extra calories. FreshMommy includes four meals a day and the food is shipped to you two times a week.

I was lucky enough to give the Freshology meal delivery service a try. I wanted to see how the other half lived. If it was good enough for Buffy, it would be good enough for me! And if I could lose a couple of pounds, that would be a bonus, a big bonus.  I tried the GetSlim program and tasted a bit of the good life.

The food is delivered in large coolers and each meal is color coded so you know what you are supposed to eat each day. A sampling of some of the meals:

• Broccoli Cheddar Omelet with fresh fruit and turkey maple sausage for breakfast
• A Chicken & Mushroom Pizza with a side Caesar salad for lunch.
• A Rosemary Scented Lamb Sirloin with Sauteed Broccoli & Balsamic Glaze with a Apple Square for desert
• Whole Grain Mustard Crusted Pork Loin with Green Beans and Butternut Squash  followed by a Chocolate Marble Cheesecake

Yeah, not to shabby.

For each color coded day you get a cheat sheet that has a description, nutritional value and ingredients for each serving. There are no icky preservatives or chemicals. Everything tasted and felt fresh. And best of all, besides reheating the meals, there was no cooking on my part. And if you’re a new mom,  that is a total blessing.

No wonder celebrity moms are such big fans. It’s easy, convenient and healthy. The FreshMommy plan regularly goes for $42.95 plus shipping and handling but to celebrate their new nationwide launch and Mother’s Day the price will be $39.95 through the month of May. For that special pricing you must go here and use the promo code MOMMY10.
