Hollywoods Most Popular Baby NamesLooking to give your kid a Hollywood name, but a little afraid that naming him ‘Pilot Inspektor’ might result in his getting beat up on the lunch line? Well, there’s good news. Despite all the hype that erupts whenever a star announces an unusual baby name for his or her offspring, there are plenty of Hollywood parents who choose names that are downright ordinary. Indeed for every Sparrow, Apple or Banjo, there’s half a dozen Johns, Graces or Henrys. So what are Hollywood’s most popular baby names? Check it out…

LOLA
I’ve never met one in real life, but the name, which means ‘sorrows’, is a hit among the celebrity set. (I guess they’re all fans of the Kinks.)
Who used it: Jennie Garth and Peter Faccinelli, Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen, Kelly Ripa and Michael Consueloes, Carnie Wilson and Rob Bonfiglio, Chris Rock and Maalack Compton-Rock.
Who got there first: Kelly Ripa and Micheal Consuelos can take the credit for this one. Their middle child, Lola Grace, turns 9 in June.

A boy’s name, meaning ‘stone worker’ also works for a girl, if you are into the boys-names-for-girls thing.
Who used it: Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick, Kelsey Grammar and Camille Conatacci, Melissa Joan Hart and Mark Wilkerson, Josie Bissett and Rob Estes, Cuba Gooding, Jr.
Who got there first: Ex-Melrose Placers Josie Bissett and Rob Estes had Mason Tru back in 1999.

This one is vying for ‘most popular Hollywood name’ with Jack. (See below)
Who used it: Who hasn’t might yield a shorter answer. A few highlights: Heidi Klum and Seal, Julia Roberts and Danny Moder, Minnie Driver, Colin Farrell, Julia Louise Dreyfus, Rachel Weisz and Darren Aranofsky, Jack White and Karen Elfson, Meryl Streep and Don Gummer
Who got there first: Streep. She’s also probably the only one who can pronounce it with the correct inflection, depending on which continent she is on.

Meaning ‘Star’, this is a trendy name for girls in Tinseltown. On a side note, I happen to know of several dogs who go by Stella. It’s a great dog name. Works fine for kids, too.
Who used it: Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott, Ellen Pompeo and Chris Ivery, Dave Matthews and Ashley Harper, Paul and Linda McCartney, Dan Aykroyd and Donna Dixon
Who got there first: Sir Paul, of course. His daughter and fashion designer to the stars, Stella, is 38.

Once a common nickname for John, it is now a name in its own right.
Who’s used it: Matt Lauer and Annette Roque, Johhny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, Kirk Cameron and Chelsea Noble, Val Kilmer and Joanne Whalley, Ellen Barkin and Gabriel Byrne, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, Christie Brinkley and Richard Taubman, Luke Perry and Minnie Sharp, Denis Leary and Ann Lembeck Leary, Bill Pullman and Tamara Hurwitz
Who got there first: %$@*! Jack Osbourne, born in 1985.

Runners-up: ELLA (Jon Travolta and Kelly Preston, Mark Wahlberg and Rhea Durham, Jeff Gordon) BENJAMIN (Tom Brady and Giselle Bundchen, Allison Sweeney, Warren Beatty and Annette Benning) LIAM (Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott, Calista Flockhart) ISABELLA (Matt and Luciana Damon, Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman)

Being Australian, I don’t know half the people mentioned, but I just wanted to thank you for the Kinks connection and not, like most Americans make, the Barry Manilow connection! We’re all about the Kinks over here. Cheers!

… We named our daughter Lola, as I’m sure you could work out.

This is a great article, but WHERE IS MAX? Christina Aguilera, Lance Armstrong, Jennifer Lopez, Gilbert Gottfried, Charlie Sheen. Then there’s always Scott Hamilton’s son Maxx.
