Kate Gosselin’s New Show Announced: Twist of Kate
Haven’t had your fill of Kate Gosselin and miss seeing her eight children on television? Well, you’re in luck. TLC just announced the new program, Twist of Kate, plus several upcoming Kate Plus 8 specials. And despite rumors that Kate would star in a dating or talk show, Twist of Kate is neither.
In 12 episodes due to begin airing this summer, Twist of Kate will focus on Gosselin responding to women inspired by her story and will profile those women in their own challenging situations. Gosselin will visit the homes and workplaces of everyday people.
“She will be in that person’s shoes. And more often than not, it’s not going to be terribly comfortable for her,” says TLC chief Eileen O’Neill. “She’s game for things, but she also has limits and boundaries.”
The Kate Plus 8 specials will focus on Gosselin’s life as a single mother and costar the Gosselin twins and sextuplets, despite the fact Jon Gosselin had at one point opposed them appearing on television.
As for Twist of Kate: ”I look at it as a loose concept,” Gosselin told USA Today. ”I want to be out there learning from others, helping to provide insight whenever I can, though I don’t consider myself an expert on anything.”
And through difficult times Kate has come to appreciate her fans. “The fact that people really support me and want the kids and I to do well … is flattering. I never understood the importance of fans until we struggled and went through tough times.”
