Sarah Jessica Parker Finds Humor In Motherhood
Sarah Jessica Parker, who has twins Marion Loretta and Tabitha Hodge and seven-year-old James Wilkie, always plays characters who look at the lighter side of things. Seems like she is the same way in real life! Managing to find humor in every situation, Sarah feels like motherhood is a blend of sitcom and military.
“Honestly, it’s funny. It’s comedic. It really is. There is so much organization and advanced planning that happens, like a military operation and with a seven year old who has needs, too,” SJP has said. “ They’re different. The bag is less but it’s crazy.”
So basically, it’s sort of like MASH with diaper bags. What else does Sarah find funny about motherhood?
While she considers having twins a blessing, she admits it was unexpected and she had some trouble managing everything at first. The humor in this?
“It’s daunting in the beginning with all the paraphernalia: the diapers, the ointments, the bottles, the pacifiers… the list just goes on. With two more, you’re carrying suitcases. It’s hilarious.”
It’s a great attitude and one to keep in mind next time you’re feeling overwhelmed. I hope someone sends this article to Octomom Nadya Suleman.
