demimoore 150x150 Demi Moore Breaks Boundaries As A Mom In HollywoodDemi Moore has made some bold moves in her career and life, from shooting to stardom as a member of the legendary Brat Pack to marrying Ashton Kutcher. One of her most daring moves though, and the image of her that will forever be etched in my mind and the mind of a generation, is her August 1991 appearance on the cover of vanity Fair nude, pregnant, and above all, sexy.

Since that time there have been a slew of skin-exposed, highly beautiful pictures of pregnant celebrities, including Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears, donning the covers of magazines. In the latest issue of Elle UK, she says of the cover that she just wanted to “push the boundaries.”

Pregnancy as publicity could be called the Moore Effect. Her take on things:“I didn’t have a lot of role models in Hollywood and I probably pushed a little hard. But I’m hard-headed. I look at women like Jennifer Garner and Reese Witherspoon, actresses who are also young mothers, and I realize it’s not even a question now.”

Jennifer and Reese, for the record, have never appeared on a magazine baring their belly, but we get what she’s saying and the message is a good one: You can be a mom and have an outstanding career.
