Chris O’Donnell recently shared that couple time with his wife away from their five children was very important in their relationship. Which made me wonder, what other celebrities — aside from the obvious like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt and Kate Gosselin — have a whole lot of children? Some of them, like Eddie Murphy, might surprise you.

Kate Capshaw, wife of Steven Spielberg, is the mother of six. Before marrying Spielberg, she gave birth to a daughter with her ex-husband and after their split, adopted a son on her own. She and Spielberg have four children together — including a child they adopted — plus Spielberg adopted the son Capshaw adopted solo prior to their relationship. Got that? Oh, and Spielberg also has a son from his four-year marriage to Amy Irving.  That’s a big holiday dinner table.

Kris Jenner, the matriarch of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians clan, has six children — four with Robert Kardashian who is now deceased, and two daughters with Bruce Jenner.  Speaking of which, in addition to the daughters with present wife Kris, Bruce has four children from two previous marriages so he has six kids total too.

Marie Osmond, perhaps the original octo-mom, has eight kids from two marriages.  Sadly, as previously reported, one her sons recently committed suicide.  In case you’re curious, brother Donny Osmond has five sons with his wife of more than 30 years.

Mel Gibson, sometimes referred to as octo-dad, has — you guessed it! — eight children.  He has one daughter and six sons with ex-wife Robyn. Their oldest, Hannah, was born in 1980 and the youngest, Thomas, was born in 1999.  He also has a daughter with girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.

Eddie Murphy is an octo-dad too!  Murphy has five children with ex-wife Nicole Mitchell, a daughter with Melanie B aka Scary Spice and two sons (born in 1989 and 1990) from two different relationships from before he married Mitchell.  He’s funny and fertile.

Kirk Cameron of Growing Pains fame has six children, four of whom were adopted, with wife Chelsea Noble. (I thought I’d end with one that didn’t require a chart…)
