Russell Crowe Won’t Pressure Sons To Act

russell crowe Russell Crowe Wont Pressure Sons To ActNot that he wouldn’t be super pleased if either one of his two boys — Charlie, 6, and Tennyson, 3 — showed an interest in following in their father’s footsteps… but he’s not pushing them into it. He just wants his sons to be happy.

Still, Russell wants his kids to know that they’ve got all the support of a superstar father behind them if that’s the way the want to go, but not the all the pressure of a overzealous father.

According to Russell:

“Tennyson does have that natural flash in his eyes… If it’s in their blood when they grow up then I’m fine for either of my kids to act.

“I don’t want to force them into it or put them in a situation where they feel they have to do it because they think that’s how they are going to get daddy’s approval.”

What he doesn’t say is that he’s totally fine if they want to man the fry station at a fast food restaurant for their entire careers. That might not make Russell so happy. Still, acting has its downsides.

According to Crowe, it gets pretty dangerous … like when you’re filming epic fight scenes on horseback for a Robin Hood film, for instance. Says Crowe:

“It’s scary stuff… We had 15 people carried off the battle field at one point. One guy got his eye poked out with a pike. Another guy broke an arm and a leg falling off a horse. A number of other people had their wills broken because it was violent and anarchic. Totally crazy.”
