parenthood nbc 550x366 300x199 Meet the Parents of NBCs Parenthood Peter KrauseWe’re taking a look at the parents of NBC’s new drama “Parenthood,” which premiered Tuesday to mostly good reviews, including ours. Next up is Peter Krause, who plays Adam Braverman, a father who knew his son Max’s behavior could be quirky, but is just realizing Max may be facing a diagnosis of Asperger’s syndrome.

In real life, Krause has a son, Roman, 9, with ex-girlfriend Christine King, and believes having kids made him understand his own parents better.

In “Parenthood,” the Adam Braverman character has two children, Max, and an older daughter. The character is parallel to the one Steve Martin played in the 1989 movie of the same name although in the movie no official diagnosis was made of the sensitive son.  I expect one storyline the Martin character faced will be similar for Krause: ratcheting down a career when one of your children is struggling, and how that could affect your job.  Krause is one of the highlights of “Parenthood,” which I suspect will be a long-running hit for NBC. Tune in next week when episode two airs Tuesday at 10:00 pm ET/PT.
