Emily Mortimer Thought She Killed Her Baby By Eating Raw Food
When you’re pregnant, you try to avoid foods that may be harmful to your unborn baby. I think Emily Mortimer forgot that when she was at a Japanese dinner while pregnant with her daughter May Rose. The actress says she wanted to impress the others at the table so much that she ate sushi that consisted of uncooked chicken dipped in raw egg.
“I was absolutely appalled, but they were so proud of me for eating it, and I was so wanting to please, so even though I was pregnant and I was so desperate for this baby, I kept eating a piece of raw chicken.”
She soon regretted her actions later on.
“I got home and I cried on the phone to [my husband] Alessandro Nivola, ‘I’ve killed our baby! I’ve just eaten raw chicken!’” she says.
Luckily the meal didn’t do anything bad as her 5-week-old is thriving.
She joked, “It was very good for her, obviously!”
Even though raw food is a no-no in foods to avoid while pregnant, did you indulge in eating any while pregnant?
