The Who’s Drummer Zak Starkey Has a Famous Dad
Besides seeing the New Orleans Saints beat the Indianapolis Colts, everyone who watched the Super Bowl XLIV on Sunday saw The Who perform during halftime. Drummer Zak Starkey has a very famous dad — do you know who (no pun intended) it is?
Starkey’s dad is drummer Ringo Starr, a member of a slightly famous band — the Beatles.
An unofficial member of the The Who since 1994, Starkey is the fourth drummer for the legendary rock band since original member Keith Moon died in 1978.
Starkey was also the drummer for English rock band Oasis, and has played with Paul Weller, The Waterboys, Icicle Works, ASAP and the Lightening Seeds. He has a daughter, Tatia Jane, who was the first grandchild born to a Beatle.
