Babies Everywhere on The Grey’s Anatomy Set. Is there Something In The Water?
Once Eric Dane and wife Rebecca Gayheart deliver their little bundle of joy (any week now!) that will make three babies in the last year for the cast of Grey’s Anatomy. While it’s not quite the scale of Lifetime’s Pregnancy Pact movie, the Grey’s crew now boasts six kids and has us wondering….is there something in the water?
Chyler Leigh started the baby trend before she actually put on her scrubs. At only 27, she’s already the proud mama to three kids – Noah Wilde, 5, Taelyn Leigh, 2 and her youngest daughter, Anniston, 6 months. Katherine Heigle joined in with one-year-old Naleigh, and Ellen Pompeo (who just debuted baby Stella Luna, 4 months, on The Ellen Show) followed shortly thereafter. Rebecca and Eric’s baby will round out the neat and tidy half-dozen.
But will art start to imitate life at Seattle Grace Hospital? Will Meredith become a mom; doesn’t Derek want to be a daddy?
For now, show creator Shonda Rhimes said, “We don’t do babies on Grey’s” but producers don’t guarantee that the cast will remain child free forever. Hmmm.
We do know that a nursery is in the works on the Grey’s set. And that for these working moms and dads, even if parenthood isn’t being written into their fictional story lines it’s being accommodated for in their real lives.
