Jason Bateman’s Beard Grows, Brad Pitt’s Shrinks (Photos)
Big news in the world of beardwatching: Brad Pitt’s scraggily goatee appears to be on the decline. But that’s OK, because Jason Bateman beard is growing bigger and more Joaquin Phoenix-like by the day. Both celeb dads grew their beards for movie roles, but it seems that Jason has grown attached to his Up in the Air facial hair.
To the annoyance of his legions of admirers, Brad seems to be intent on keeping his wily facial hair until all shooting for The Lost City of Z has wrapped, in which he’s playing the part of Colonel Percy Harrison Fawcett (an explorer with lots of facial hair).
Last night, Brad showed up to the Directors Guild Awards sporting a slightly less primitive-looking goatee. Do you think Brad’s beard is being phased out? Or did Angie just convince his to trim it up for the awards? The other big news coming from the DGAs is, of course, that Brad and Angie looked happy and warm together.
These guys better watch out, because the thing about beards is, once you’ve had one for awhile, it’s really strange to cut them off. I remember the first time I saw my dad without a beard. I was 13 and it freaked me out.
Looks like we can expect a round of Super Bowl photos featuring Brad and his unruly beard taking Maddox to the game this weekend. Shall we take bets on how long Bateman’s will last? I wonder if his daughter Francesca likes it?
