jessica alba 012010 8 187x30011 Jessica Alba Wants Honor to Be BilingualTeaching your child to respect their roots is an important thing to instill. Jessica Alba is hoping that Honor will, well, honor her own Latin heritage. One way that she is ensuring that happens is to have Honor grow up being bilingual. Jessica told that magazine Siempre Mujer: “God knows that I wish I was raised bilingual. But it wasn’t to be,” she said that her heritage is “in my blood whether I speak Spanish or not.”

But she’s hoping to get in touch with her roots while teaching Honor. She stated that,  “I just hired a professor that specializes in Hispanic studies to teach me and Honor.”

Muy Bueno!

I applaud Jessica for choosing to raise Honor Marie bilingual. We are also raising our children to speak Spanish, the native language of my mother. We have come-up with a very effective song-based approach that helps make Spanish part of routine daily activities. We now offer our award-winning music and materials to other parents in our same situation, including Jessica. We recently had the opportunity to give her our Spanish-All-Day Program and hope Honor Marie is enjoying it as much as our children.
