Demi Moore: Before And After Photo-shop Disaster
Recent endorsement deals, magazine covers and award show wrap ups reveal that celebrity moms over 40 are looking better than ever. But in some cases, it looks like their natural beauty isn’t quite enough and they’re being buffed, puffed and photo-shopped to look quite unnatural. This week, Demi Moore is the latest in the “were they or weren’t they digitally enhanced” debate .
The beauty watch dogs at Jezebel, all over Mrs. Kutcher’s earlier airbrushing accusations, not only noticed the blatant photoshop blunder in Demi’s latest ad for Helena Rubenstein, they actually did some detective work and found a “before” picture of Demi to support their case (courtesy of Ashton Kutcher’s twitpics).
As they did, we couldn’t help but notice how striking Mrs. Kutcher is sans make-up and
were equally perplexed about why anyone would feel the need take take the virtual scalpel (or waxy makeup worthy of Heidi Klum’s wax figure) to such a stunning specimen.
As the mother of girls, I’m constantly worried about the saturation of unattainable beauty and bodies in the media. It’s bad enough that actresses wearing a size 6 are called out as “fat” (like those who graced the red carpet last week) or being celebrated for going from this already diminutive size to a more desireable size 2.
Although I recently found my 12 year old and a friend spellbound by the Dove Evolution Beauty video below, I still fear that it’s always going to be the after pictures she’ll aspire to despite knowing it’s all virtual smoke and mirrors.
