dixie chicks 233x300 Dixie Chicks Lose a Chick for Next AlbumGrammy Award-winning country music group the Dixie Chicks will put out an album this year, minus lead singing chick Natalie Maines.  Martie Macguire and Emily Robison, who are sisters, will release the album under the name Court Yard Hounds. The women — all mothers of young children — took some family time following their political outspokenness against President Bush that resulted in a backlash from conservative country music fans and decreased record sales.

Robison will serve as lead vocalist on the album. Maines’ father apparently told reporters that the Dixie Chicks are “still an entity.”
