Is Van The Man? Rumors Swirl Around “Baby Van Morrison”
Last week, we cheered when it was announced that the world’s greatest Irish soul singer had once again procreated. Then, we booed and hissed as it was declared yet another internet hoax. Now, we find out that nobody seems to know the whole truth about Van Morrison’s alleged baby.
According to Van’s PR team, “Van the Man” has never even heard of the new mother Gigi Lee — but as the Daily Mail has learned, the woman claiming to have Van’s baby is connected to 8 of the singer’s companies, listed as both a director and secretary. Hmmm, that’s strange…
While it doesn’t look like this story will rival the Tiger Woods saga at this point, there’s obviously something weird going on here. The following birth announcement was made on Morrison’s website last week:
“Gigi and Van Morrison are proud to announce the birth of their firstborn son George Ivan Morrison III. Little Van, born Dec 28, 2009 – the spitting image of his daddy.”
As for the question: who published it? That news hasn’t come out yet. According to the Daily Mail, Gigi’s boyfriend dumped her last year when he suspected that she was cheating on him with Van Morrison.
To make it even weirder, Gigi doesn’t live in Belfast, she lives in Dallas. So it’s pretty hard to determine whether she might be Van’s mistress, or a bat-crazy stalker.

QoB commented on Jan 05 10 at 7:43 pmVan Morrison doesn’t live in Belfast, he lives in Killiney, Co. Dublin, in the Republic of Ireland. He has two small kids with his partner (wife?) Michelle Rocca and a grown-up daughter… whether this rumour has any truth in it, I don’t know, but he’s denied it.
