Avenged Sevenfold Drummer Jimmy ‘The Rev’ Sullivan Dead at 28
We’re learning of yet another tragic young death in the entertainment world – Avenged Sevenfold drummer James Owen Sullivan, aka The Rev, has been found dead at his home in Huntington Beach, CA. He was only 28.
The cause of death is unknown; the Orange County Coroner’s Office is still investigating and has yet to make an official announcement.
Avenged Sevenfold formed in Huntington Beach in 1999 and the five-man metalcore band went on to win Best New Artist at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2006. According to their MySpace page they were working on their fifth album together.
No doubt this is a difficult time for his wife, Leana MacFadden, (aka Leana Silver) and his stepdaughter Ravyn Alexandra, 1. Our thoughts go out them as well as his family, friends and bandmates at this difficult time.

I love drummers, and his age makes it all the more worse. I’m worried for the future of Avenged Sevenfold, he was more than their bandmate. He (and I quote) was their brother.

He was so young and full of life then all of a sudden he was gone. Rest In Peace Rev!!! You will be sadly missed by everyone who knew you. My prayers go out to the other members of Avenged Sevenfold and the Rev’s family.

He seized the day in bat country then burned it down, his unholy confessions trashed and scattered. We gave him the strength of the world and he gave a us a second heartbeat.
