Bristol Palin Sues Levi Johnston For Full Custody
Levi Johnston saw it coming. In late November he told the The Guardian that he and Bristol Palin would be soon “going to court” and would be fighting over custody of their son Tripp. He was right. In early December Bristol sued Levi for total and full custody of young Tripp. Originally word didn’t get out about the lawsuit because the proceeding were ruled to be closed. But a judge overturned that and the going-ons were made public.
Now this lawsuit should come of no surprise. Levi and Bristol’s mom Sarah Palin have made their distain for each other very public. Although Bristol is looking for full custody, Levi would get scheduled visitation rights. The custody claim says:
“The evidence will show that Levi is not ready for the demands of parenthood and the sacrifices that would entail to a 19 year old aspiring actor/model. Levi remains without a regular job or steady source of income. He has obtained money by selling stories to the media about his son Tripp, ex-fiance Bristol and the Palin family in general, but otherwise has not gone to school to learn a trade or obtain a degree. Recently he has engaged in modeling, including risque modeling for Playgirl magazine.”
The Palin clan wanted these proceedings closed but Levi fought and got them to be open. His opposition to it being closed were the following:
“I do not feel protected against Sarah Palin in a closed proceeding. I hope that if its open she will stay out of it… I think a public case might go a long way in reducing Sarah Palin’s instinct to attack and allow the real parties in this litigation, Bristol and I, to work things out a lot more peacefully than we could if there is any more meddling from Sarah Palin…”
The Palin legal team also suggested that if the public would be made public that young Tripp would be the fodder of countless blog posts and oodles of commenters chiming in, and what family would want that for their one-year-old.
This battle is probably gonna get ugly! If you’d like to check out the full legal documents you can check them out here.

Mama Bear commented on Dec 29 09 at 3:28 pmIf part time work was a reason to lose custody – shouldn’t Bristol be under the same microscope? LOL! BTW Isn’t that the example Sarah herself has set? Sarah is in the middle of a media tour, before she starts her media career, unless a better offer comes up- seems like Levi is just imitating HER style.

It sounds as if he has NO job at all, like his only source of income is selling stories to the media and posing for naughty magazines. If this is the case, which I am not capable of determining as I am not in their circle of friends, he doesn’t deserve custody of his child. He needs to put some effort into finding an income to care for his child. I wouldn’t want my child around a playgirl model either.
