David Beckham Copes With Family Death
David Beckham is going through something that most of us will have to face at some point – something some of us are facing right now. The soccer legend has lost a grandparent.
Beckham, father of Brooklyn (10), Romeo (7) and Cruz (4), had just arrived in South Africa to represent England in a bid to host the 2018 World Cup when he was told of his grandfather Joe West’s passing. Mr. West had been diagnosed with an illness in August.
David Beckham often credited his grandfather as the inspiration for his career in soccer describing him as a mentor. The two were very close and Beckham understandably having a hard time dealing with the news.
