Howie Mandel’s A “Hard Guy To Live With”
Howie Mandel writes about how his mental illness has affected his wife and children in his new book, Here’s The Deal: Don’t Touch Me.
Mandel suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder and he admits that it has made him a “hard guy to live with”.
Mandel says that everyone, including his three children who range in age from 17 to 25, has had to seek out professional help for coping with his disorders.
“All of us have gone through therapy. I don’t think there’s anyone alive that doesn’t need coping skills when you’re married. They have always loved and supported me. But even with all that support and love it’s still incredibly hard, sometimes terrifying and dark.”
In his book, Mandel compares the experience to “a tightrope” and says that his family has “had to cope throughout the years with my idiosyncrasies.”
Here’s The Deal: Don’t Touch Me is available now.

You are a gorgeous man. And of course very funny, and you seem so down to earth. I Know what your family and you are going through, my significant other was diagnosed with being BIPOLAR, I dont wish that on anyone. You and your family take care, and have a exciting life.
