An Obama Thanksgiving
How did President Obama and his family spend Thanksgiving?
Just like you: eating way more food than anyone should.
But before the President of the United States sits down to enjoy a Thanksgiving spread, he has a few important phone calls to make.
President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama spent Thanksgiving morning calling US troops deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq. The presidential couple called 10 members of the military – two from each branch – and thanked them personally for their service to their country.
After taking care of the official giving of thanks, the Obamas sat down to an impressive holiday feast. The White House table was set with turkey, honey-baked ham, cornbread and oyster stuffings, greens, macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes, green-bean casserole, banana cream pie, pumpkin pie, apple pie, huckleberry pie, cherry pie and sweet-potato pie.
There has been no official word yet on whether or not the President still has leftovers.
