UPDATED: Tiger Woods Seriously Injured In Car Crash
Tiger Woods was hospitalized after a car crash early Friday morning.
Reports are spotty about the seriousness of Tiger’s injuries, but he was taken to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, Florida. Some reports say he was listed in “very serious condition”, others say he was treated for facial lacerations, and some published reports have him already released from the hospital.
What we do know is that Tiger Woods pulled out of his driveway in Orlando’s Isleworth community shortly after 2am and hit a fire hydrant. He then drove into a tree in his neighbor’s yard.
The Florida Highway Patrol said that charges are pending in the ongoing investigation, but no alcohol was involved.
The air bag in Tiger’s Cadillac Escalade did not deploy, suggesting that he was driving less than 33 mph when the accident occurred.
Tiger Woods was scheduled to play in the Chevron World Challenge golf tournament on December 1-6.
UPDATED 4:17pm
A representative from Health Central Hospital released a statement on the local news that Tiger Woods was admitted, treated and released in “good condition”. Tiger’s agent has contacted local CBS affiliates by email to confirm that he is in good condition.
No further word on the type of injuries, what time Tiger Woods was released, or the charges that Florida Highway Patrol have said are “pending”.
UPDATED 6:12pm
Local officers say that Tiger’s wife witnessed his car accident and broke the rear window of the Cadillac Escalade with a golf club. Officers say she pulled him out of the car and layed him in front of the SUV, which is where officers found him going in and out of consciousness.
