According to the 2008 tax return for the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie sent over $6 million to charities last year.

Brad and Angelina each put about $6 million into the foundation last year and gave a reported $6.4 million away to various charities.

Who got the money?

$2 million went to Global Health, while Human Rights Watch and Brad’s Make it Right Foundation got $1 million each. The foundation also gave $500,000 to the Armed Services YMCA of the U.S. Army; $50,000 to the Springfield, Missouri Public Schools (Brad’s hometown); and roughly a million dollars to projects in Cambodia, the country where the couple adopted their first child.

The foundation’s only reported expenses were $224,564 for grant management paid to the Global Philanthropy Group.

I’ve taken out my calculator and figured out: that’s one heck of a tax deduction!

(And also very nice.  Obviously.)
