Matt Damon On Politics and Parenthood

spl140502 015 165x300 Matt Damon On Politics and ParenthoodMatt Damon has been busy. Not only is he raising a family, starring in movies, doing various charity events but he also just completed a documentary for the History Channel called “The People Speak”.

The 39-year-old dad of three attended the premiere of the film in New York City.  He hope that his own children will be politically active and fight the powers, the bad ones that is.

Matt stated about the film that:

“The tagline is that ‘Democracy is not a spectator sport. That’s what I would want, more than anything, my kids to take away. This country is about participation, activism, understanding the history of the country, understanding your place in that history, being involved and being a productive part of the American experience.”

On parenthood he said, “I never knew I could function this well with no sleep. That was a realization.” As for Thanksgiving he shared that “We’re getting out of town for a few days, and going down to Florida,” and that his fav thing about the holiday is… It’s gotta be the eating,” he says. “Thanksgiving, yeah. It’s gotta be the eating.”

And what are their Thanksgiving plans? “We’re getting out of town for a few days, and going down to Florida,” Matt says. When asked about his favorite holiday tradition, Matt says he loves all the food. “It’s gotta be the eating,” he says. “Thanksgiving, yeah. It’s gotta be the eating.”
