Mel Gibson Loves To Dig Ditches

Apparently, one of Mel’s mentors once advised him to dig ditches in order to make himself a better person — and Mel thinks that it worked. I wonder if Mel will instill the virtues of digging and gardening in his new daughter Lucia?

From an interview in ContactMusic:

“Some of the best advice I was given, a long time ago, was from a guy who said, ‘You want to make yourself better, go and dig a ditch.’ So, a lot of that’s been going on, ditch-digging, vegetable-growing.”

As irrational as it may seem, this is probably the least kooky thing Mel has said in  months. Since the announcement of his divorce with Robyn — the mother of all but his latest of 8 kids — Mel has had a serious of weird meltdowns.

Most recently, he’s making members of his congregation fill out an application to attend mass. No kidding.

My advice to Mel: keep digging.
