Kate Hudson Says Smoking Took Her Away From Family
Kate Hudson recently quit smoking because she hated the smell and the way smoking interfered with her life.
“It was starting to drive me crazy!” Hudson said. “I didn’t like the way the car smelt, or my hair and clothes.”
But it wasn’t just vanity that made the young mom give up cigarettes. Hudson says that smoking also disrupted her time with her family.
“It takes you away from the family and the things you’re doing. You don’t realize it at the time. Then when you’re done, you go, ‘Wow, I do so much more in a day – including eat.’”
Before Kate dropped 20 lbs by cutting booze from her diet, there were pregnancy rumors swirling in the media. Kate attributes those rumors to weight gain caused by the extra food she consumed after quitting smoking.
“Quitting meant eating more,” she said. “Then, there were rum ours in the press saying I was pregnant. Later somebody said, ‘When did you quit smoking?’ And I was like, ‘Right about the time everybody thought I was pregnant.’”
Congratulations, Kate. I know from personal experience how hard it is to give up smoking, but I’m certain your son Ryder appreciates your sacrifice!
