Joe Jackson Seeks Monthly Allowance From Michael Jackson’s Estate

Joe JacksonFile this under Worst Celebrity Parent Ever.

Joe Jackson is petitioning his deceased son’s estate for a monthly allowance, despite the fact that Michael Jackson made no arrangements for his estranged father in his will.

Michael Jackson’s estate has paid more than $26,000 per month to his mother, Katherine Jackson, and an additional $60,000 per month for the care of his three children.  The singer’s will also calls for payments to be made to select charities, but there is no mention of financial compensation to his father.

The only person who seems to be surprised by this is Joe Jackson himself.

Michael Jackson made his strained relationship with his father well known when he was alive, talking frequently about the abusive nature of his father’s behavior when he was growing up.  Even after his death, the biological mother of two of his children, Debbie Rowe, sought to keep Joe Jackson away from Michael’s children.

Regardless, Joe Jackson is asking his son’s estate to help cover his living expenses of more than $15,000 per month.  The eldest Jackson claims that he has been dependent for years on money from his son through his wife Katherine.  Joe’s only other reported source of income is a $1,700 monthly Social Security payment.

What, exactly, does the 80 year old man need $15,000 a month for?  The filings list Jackson’s expenses to include $1,200 in rent for his Las Vegas residence, $2,500 to eat out, $1,000 a month on gifts, entertainment and vacation, and $5,000 a month on hotels and air travel.

Dear Joe Jackson, the answer to your financial trouble is simple.  Stay home.
