Are Those Dreads In Brad Pitt’s Beard?
Brad Pitt is officially a cooler dad than my dad ever was. I think. Dreads are still cool, right?
OK, technically Pitt has braided his beard, not put it into dreadlocks. But the four silver beads match his silver goatee so well, it’s easy to miss them.
Brad unveiled his new ‘do (is it called a ‘do if it’s facial hair?) while in Japan for the Inglourious Basterds premiere. He says he’s growing the beard out for a role in The Lost City of Z.
I’m trying to imagine my own father putting beads into his mustache. I think I would have been mortified, but the Pitt-Jolie kids seem much, much cooler than I was. Of course, I never my parents never trusted me enough to officiate any of their weddings, either. I’m sure that would have made me a cooler kid.
Anyway – Brad Pitt braided his beard. And while your dad probably couldn’t pull it off, he’s kind of working it.

So where exactly are the other three braids, you have six kids? No, we’re sure three more braids will make their debut on his fluffy chin very shortly but as us Americans encountering Caribbean beach-Braiding mamas during our holiday trips already know it’s impossible to only get three. Braid the whole beard, Braidly! Get cornrows!
Cornrows are only the beginning; by Christmas time Braid will have strings of multicolored beads, charms, and garland hanging from his chin. The children’s at home human art project, Braidly wants to show them the organic way to make art. Each kid will have his own braid to work on, and the best decorator will win a chance to swing like Tarzan from Daddy’s jaw!
Beard braids function in place of a messy Christmas trees this holiday season and better yet, when they grow longer will become the most convenient and hands-free leash for your child.
The new hot way to keep warm and look hot for the ladies, sew heavy charms onto them so that chewing becomes more difficult and you can lose weight faster!
Finally, what better way to escape the drudgeries of having to trim, shave and get stuck cleaning the bathroom sink? Braidly knows what he’s doing everyone, so quit snickering and get growing!
