Rosie O’Donnell Worried About Losing Kids In The Divorce
If Rosie O’Donnell and Kelli Carpenter’s marriage does end up in divorce, will Kelli end up with custody of the couple’s kids? Rumor has it that Kelli isn’t happy with the current custody arrangement and may move to claim primary custody if and when the couple gets an official divorce.
According to the Enquirer, Rosie’s best hope is to either patch things up or keep the separation out of the courtroom:
“Rosie prays that she and Kelli won’t have to make their separation official because she knows her many problems could come into play,” a close source divulged.
“On paper Kelli appears to be the better mom because she doesn’t have the baggage that Rosie does.”
Kelli and her (or should I say their?) youngest daughter Vivienne(carried by Kelli) reportedly moved into a condo in Manhattan a couple of months ago. At the very least, it looks like Kelli might be seeking full custody of her biological daughter. Weird.
Rosie’s biggest concern in the event of a possible custody hearing is her past mental health issues. Says NE’s source:
“Rosie’s long-standing psychological, emotional and alcohol-related baggage would not sit well with a family court judge if she and Kelli can’t work out an amicable custody plan,” said a friend of the couple.

“Kelli’s pals have told her she needs to make the split permanent, and she’s been meeting with a divorce lawyer,” the close source disclosed. “
Sad story. Hope they can work things out.

Rosie And Kelli Will Parent Together | Famecrawler commented on Nov 12 09 at 12:30 pm[...] Actually, I kind of see this news as a positive thing for the family. If they’ve been able to share custody of their four kids for the past 2 years without the courts getting involved, it doesn’t seem likely that Kelli and Rosie are headed for a custody battle — as earlier rumors indicated. First – what kind of excuse for a journalist quotes the Enquirer.
Second – I suspect your readership may include some gay parents as well as some straight parents who oppose homophobia. To question whether Vivienne is “theirs” and then comment on who “carried” her is offensive. They conceived of this child together, are both legally her parents, are both known to her as her parents….who the hell are you to impose your narrow little view on gay families.
I have never read anything on Babble that struck me as racist or homophobic. I am just shocked that this would be posted on this website!

Carla commented on Nov 02 09 at 11:01 pmI don’t think (or should I say their?) was meant like that. I don’t think the post was homophobic or offensive. It is just another sad story. As for quoting the Enquirer, this is a celebrity blog… Lighten up!
