Again, It’s All Angelina’s Fault?
Are you going to read the new biography about Angelina Jolie?
The unauthorized biography by Andrew Morton is said to contain “vile slurs” about her past. The biography even accuses her of sleeping with with her mom’s boyfriend when she was 16.
Isn’t that statutory rape? We don’t know what went on in that house. Why is she the one getting reviled? I just don’t get it.
Can’t anyone ever give her a break? It’s all Angelina bashing all the time. The woman is not the same as she was even just a couple of years ago. We all change all the time, and it has to be hard to be bombarded with this craziness all the time, whether or not it’s true.
How can she ever let her kids read anything or watch TV? This crap is on all the time.

alison commented on Oct 27 09 at 2:40 pmI think there are a variety of reasons people hate on Angelina. She is a strong woman (strike one, how dare she not know her place?) who is supremely attractive (strike 2, how dare she make people feel jealous?) who manipulated the tabloids with her bizarre antics when she was with Billy Bob Thornton (strike 3, how dare she not take the media seriously?) who then went on to do a huge amount of humanitarian work (strike 4, how dare she make us feel guilty?) and who has been very open about her sexuality (strike 5, how dare she not be cowed by society’s hypocritical rules regarding female sexuality?) and then, to top it off, she hooked up with Brad PItt (strikes 6, 7, and 8: how dare she STEAL the husband of Jennifer Aniston? How dare she have his babies? How dare she be happy with someone so attractive and not MAKE HIM MARRY HER?) The ironic thing is that it doesn’t seem to have hurt her acting career or her life, which only goes to show that being well loved by the tabloids may be more of a curse than a blessing.
