balloon boy falcon heene abc 300x207 The Heene Family Headed For Reality TV Fame? (Video)The “Balloon Boy Hoax” of 2009 might spawn the hit reality series of 2010. Apparently, after all the publicity that Falcon Heene generated with his fake balloon trip and subsequent outing of his scheming parents — bigwigs at the Discovery Channel think they’ve discovered the perfect combo of family values, dangerous science experiments, and child exploitation.

That’s right, word on the street has it that the Discovery Channel has put a $1M reality show offer on the table for the Heene family. Apparently, Discovery want to put together a show “that focuses on scientific family projects that you can do yourself at home.”

Will they take it? Based on the family’s crazy appearance on Wife Swap and the outrageous hijinks they pulled yesterday, I’m going to have to say: definitely.

Sure, the money is definitely a big factor, but from what I gather, Richard Heene (dear ol’ dad) is kind of a ego-manic. So, I’m sure the idea of becoming a kind of TV expert/mad scientist will appeal to him.

Will the show damage the family dynamic, as it has for the Gosselins? They seem pretty weird already to me, so it would be pretty difficult to tell.

It’s always annoying when idiots get rewarded for their reckless behavior. What do you think?
