Katherine Heigl Opens Up About Naleigh’s Heart Surgery
Last month, Katherine Heigl and hubby Josh Kelley announced that they’d completed their adopted a 10-month-old girl named Naleigh with special needs… not revealing what those needs were exactly. Almost a month later, Katherine finally has time to talk all about her new baby girl.
According to Heigl, baby Naleigh’s special needs stem from a birth defect involving her heart:
“She had two holes in her heart when she was born, so she had open-heart surgery when she was 3 months old… Naleigh’s definitely getting stronger, so much so that she’s crawling and starting to pull herself up.”
That’s awesome news! Katherine also says that having Naleigh around has been so great that she’s already planning on expanding the family again. No word on whether Katherine will have the baby herself or adopt again. Says Heigl:
“We’ll add to our family eventually. Naleigh’s so good, though, that our next kid is probably going to be a little hellion.”
