Jon Gosselin Ordered To Put The $180K Back
After yesterday’s meeting with an arbitrator, it looks like somebody’s going to have to write a pretty large check to his own joint bank account, and his name starts with J and ends with on Gosselin. That’s right folks, Jon has to put $180K back into the estranged couple’s shared bank account in the next 2 weeks, or face charges of contempt.
After the decision, Kate had this to say:
“As difficult as this has been for me, I am pleased that the court has ruled fairly on behalf of myself and my children. Now that this matter has been ruled on, I look forward to returning to private arbitration, as we have agreed to do, to resolve any remaining issues.”
The weird part is, last week when Kate was sobbing on The View, the claim was that Jon took $230K out of their account… so I’m really not sure exactly why the numbers aren’t adding up. Does Jon get to keep the remaining $50,000? Was Kate lying? What’s up with that?
Apparently, while Kate was letting everyone believe that Jon took $230k, she had taken out about $55k herself that she supposedly used to pay “household bills and expenses related to the children.” An arbitrator will make a ruling on that sum later on.
Judge Tilson, presiding over the case, reportedly told the couple to shut up and stop doing public appearances for a while — but both have already blabbed to the tabloids.
