Will Smith’s Kids Become Youth Ambassadors For AIDS Charity
11-year old Jaden Smith and 8-year-old Willow Smith have signed up to be youth ambassadors for Hasbro’s Project Zambi. Through their participation, the two budding movies stars are helping raise awareness for the 15 million African children who’ve lost parents in the massive AIDS epidemic.
Jaden, who’s currently working with Jackie Chan on Kung-Fu Kid, had this to say:
“Willow and I joined Project Zambi to represent all the kids out there who want to make the world a better place. We want to encourage kids everywhere to lend a hand and join us in spreading the word about how much children who have been orphaned by AIDS in Africa need our help.”
To give you an idea of what Project Zambi is all about, Zambi is an elephant plush toy, half of the proceeds from which go to support orphaned children. Hasbro has already committed a minimum of $500,000 of worldwide sales to the Project Zambi Fund.
Jaden and Willow, along with other celebs like Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney, the Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift and Justin Timberlake have all autographed baby Zambi elephants to be sold at a celebrity charity auction.
