Kevin Smith Urges Kids To Smoke Pot
Mensa works for some kids. For others, director Kevin Smith recommends a steady diet of pot smoke to help all those gifted and talented kids out their achieve their filmmaking dreams. Kevin Smith, father of a 10-year-old daughter, recently advised the nation’s youth to start smoking weed. No kidding.
Says Smith:
“I know you’re supposed to tell kids not to do drugs, but, kids, do it! Do weed! Don’t do the other stuff, but weed is good . . . What you want to do is what I did, build a movie empire and, at age 38, smoke it all away.”
Sure, it may be a tad out of context, but he said it. Now Kevin can never run for office. Apparently, Kevin had never really smoked much marijuana until Seth Rogen peer-pressured him into it last summer. Now, he loves it and recommends it for child consumption. I wonder if he lets his daughter smoke pot? Ah well, I’ll let CPS worry about that.
Also in the interview, Smith talks a little about his new role as a director, as opposed to a writer/director. Says Smith:
“Judd Apatow is way better at being Kevin Smith now than Kevin Smith ever was. So Judd Apatow should do it for a while, and I should figure out something else, and weed has been [bleeping] helpful with that.”
Honestly, and this is not just the responsible adult in me talking here, I really don’t think Kevin Smith should become a child pot-smoking advocate. The reason is, well… mainly, a lot of other people have already beat him to the punch (like Snoop Dogg).
By the time my friends and I discovered Clerks in junior high, smoking weed had already occurred to us as a really really awesome thing to do. Just saying.

Believe, I work around a few pot heads and I will never aspire to raise a kid like them. So, thanks but no thanks.
It is illegal. You know, against the law. It also causes lung cancer. Jabba the Hut needs to keep his trap shut.
