Gwyneth Paltrow Brings Back the Mom Jean

mom jeans1 Gwyneth Paltrow Brings Back the Mom JeanIs the ‘mom jean’ making a comeback? Over the weekend Gwyneth Paltrow attended good pal Stella McCartney’s fashion show in Paris.  Fashion show plus Paris usually equals high style. But what did Miss Gwyneth opt to wear to this glamorous event?

A pair of light wash mid-rise clam diggers.  Cele|bitchy wondered “Did Stella design this sh-t? Or did Gwyneth just pair a Stella jacket with her K-Mart mom jeans? I seriously think I had those jeans when I was a kid. And yes, they were from K-Mart.” I’m all for mixing, matching and getting all retro but going for the acid wash hues of the ‘80s mom jean? I, for one, think this is a style that does not need to be revisited.

I always thought the “mom jean” referred to jeans that are high-waisted, not necessarily jeans that are that odd blue color.

I agree Rosana, to truly be a “mom jean” it must be high waisted and therefore make your butt look like an upside down heart. It should also make the even the flatest tummy look like it is bloated.
