Who Is Stephanie Birkitt? (VIDEO and PICS)
The latest name to pop up in the David Letterman extortion scandal is Stephanie Birkitt. According to RadarOnline Birkitt was Letterman’s former assistant and one of the women the talk show host allegedly was involved with. See a video featuring Birkitt after the jump.
From RadarOnline:
Stephanie Birkitt, the woman used by Robert Halderman without her knowledge at the center of the David Letterman extortion plot, met Halderman at CBS about 15 years ago, a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com exclusively.
At the time, Halderman was in one of his two past marriages, and our source says Halderman did not have a relationship with Birkitt at that time.
Birkitt later got a job on Letterman’s show and has worked there for more than a decade, often appearing on air. Our source tells RadarOnline.com that Birkitt and Letterman slept together for a period of time before he married his girlfriend Regina and had their son Harry.
After Halderman divorced, the source says he got involved with Stephanie and she lived with him in Connecticut. The source says Birkitt told Halderman that she had had sex with Letterman. Whether Halderman also learned Letterman had other affairs is not clear at this time.
Our source says Birkitt is mortified Halderman is using her fling with Letterman to blackmail her boss.
Birkitt has been featured in stunts on Letterman’s show and is considered one of his top staffers.
This story seems to get more insane every hour. Let’s hope all the adults can handle this maturely from here on out, especially for the sake of Letterman’s 5-year old son Harry. Turns out Halderman has two kids of his own as well, the youngest being 11. What a mess.
