jon gosselin larry king live video 300x236 Jon Gosselin Has an Epiphany on Larry King Live (VIDEO)Jon Gosselin made an appearance on Larry King Live last night in the latest chapter of the War of the Gosselins. Attempting to curry some sympathy from viewers Jon extended an olive branch to Kate. “I had an epiphany one day,” he said. “I made mistakes… I’m here to apologize to Kate.” I wonder if Jon even knows what an epiphany is? Does he think it’s the name of a micro brew they serve at the Bellagio?

Jon also added, “I apologize to Hailey [Glassman].” Dude should have quit while he was ahead. See the video after the jump.

He also tried to explain why he’s attempting to shut down production on the newly-named “Kate Plus 8″ – it’s for the children. “It’s not healthy for my kids to be on the show… it’s detrimental to them.” (Jon reveals that he made a million dollars from the show in the past year — money paid to both him and Kate.)

Jon admitted he and his estranged wife aren’t exactly the best of friends. “I don’t talk to Kate,” he said. And while he said that he texts her but she doesn’t text back, he also added, “I want us to become friends.”

Raise your hand if you think it’s time for both Jon and Kate to stop making TV appearances and concentrate on raising their kids.

Even though I suspect he has made the decision to suspend filming for the wrong reason, it’s still the right move. Those kids don’t need to be filmed anymore, especially not now – lots of large families survive on less money, and they can, too. With mom planning a future as a megastar, and dad planning one as a teenager, those kids need all the sheltering they can get.

I agree with z above. I think Jon definitely is making it look like he’s taking the high road, but he’s not happy about being cut out of the profit! He’s having an “epiphany” now, but where was that epiphany when he was getting a paycheck from TLC?!

And yeah, the kids don’t need to be filmed all the time, especially during this difficult time…. but I think everyone can see through Jon’s altruistic act.

I watched the show when it first came out and really enjoyed it up to a point, Kate was really harsh and not very nice to Jon. It was how she on occassion would yell at him and I thought to myself if I had done this to my husband we would not be on our way to 55 years of marriage, respect is the key ingredient in a marriage and I do not feel she every showed him much respect. I watched the show at the show when it first came out and enjoyed it as well. Kate was always harsh to Jon! On the first season it was occassional that she would yet at him and then it got to the point of when it was all the time. If that was me i would have been gone along time ago. And the money thing she has to be make’n more than him now and she wants how much a month? 20,000! u got to be out of ur mind. I’m a single mother I want her to come live my life on the $25,000 a year i make with 1 kid. And no help from his father. No TV shows nothing.

Yeah i don’t think the kids should be filmed any more. Its just not right they are only doing it cause mommy likes the money too much now.
