Former senator John Edwards, who allegedly had an affair and fathered a child with Rielle Hunter, promised his mistress that he would marry her once his wife Elizabeth died of cancer.  This according to Edwards’ former aide, Andrew Young.

Young claims that Edwards and Hunter would marry on a New York rooftop and the Dave Matthews Band would perform.  All this would happen once Elizabeth Edwards died of cancer.  How lowlife is that?

The former aide also claims that John is the father of Rielle’s daughter, Frances, who is now 19-months-old but that he wanted Young to cover for him and say that the baby was his.

Elizabeth says she has “no idea” if John is the baby’s dad, and no father is listed on the child’s birth certificate.

During her Oprah Show appearance, Elizabeth said, “I’ve seen a picture of the baby.  I have no idea.  It doesn’t look like my children, but I don’t have any idea.”

There’s been no statement from John Edward’s camp.

You know, if Edwards is the father, he’s despicable for not coming forward to care for his child.  I feel sorry for that baby – she’ll grow up and realize her father is a coward.
