Kate Gosselin’s Reality: I’m A Single Mom
Kate Gosselin is trying her best to come to terms with her new reality: the life of a single mom. The Jon & Kate Plus 8 reality TV personality admits to being sad, lonely and sometimes feeling very overwhelmed.
On Monday’s episode of the TLC show, Kate said, “The new normal is I”m here a lot of the time, Jon is here some of the time and there’s no rhyme or reason to that. All I feel now is constantly, completely overwhelmed… I can’t deal with it.”
Kate admits to feeling alone since filing for divorce. Now that she and Jon split their time with the kids, she said it’s a challenge.
“It’s sad. I’m lonely at night being here by myself. This is really a true test of survival, of perseverance, of determination.”
Kate, 34, does everything big for her kids. She wants them to have good memories even during this difficult time. “I’ve got to use every minute that I’m here and I’ve got to do everything big and make memories because I only have half the time.”
Kate has been hit with the reality that she is a single mom. “That’s the moment when I realize I’m a single mom. Typically Jon would have done that he would have done all the carrying of the kids and when they’re asleep of course they weigh twice what they weigh. I had to lug Collin up to bed and he was heavy. He was cute. It was very sweet.”
With tears in her eyes, Kate admits it’s hard having to leave her kids while Jon comes to take his turn with them.
Even Jon admits it’s hard with their new arrangement. He said, “It is really stressful. It’s like bittersweet. I seem them here but then I have to leave.”
When you make your bed… well, you know how that saying goes.
Kind of sad that Jon and Kate couldn’t make it work.
