More Clues About How Sparrow Got His Name
Contrary to my belief that Nicole Richie and Joel Madden chose a bird name because they’re obsessed with Twitter, Joel has given us yet another potential source to consider: Simon and Garfunkel. Was Joel and Nicole’s baby boy named after Simon & Garfunkel’s “Sparrow?”
From Joel’s Twitter page:
“A song for the little songbird http://bit.ly/W8dQ3 Enjoy.”
The link, of course takes you to the song that shares it’s name with Joel’s son. Or is it the other way around?
Either way, it helps make my case — Joel’s without a doubt a Twitter freak.
Now, in more disturbing news, it seems that Sparrow is showing signs of being an Philadelphia Eagles fan. Again, from Joel’s Twitter page:
“Sparrow is sitting with me smiling. he is smiling for the Eagles, tho a little look of concern came over his face when Mcnabb went down.”
Being named after a bird, I guess it’s natural that he prefers teams like the Seahawks, Cardinals and the Ravens. That’s probably what the baby naming “experts” would say.
