And all this coming out of a two-year retirement after giving birth to daughter Jada in 2008. Makes me feel positively lazy.

Clijsters, who has her daughter’s name tattooed on her left wrist, collapsed to the ground in tears after her win over Denmark’s Caroline Wozniacki. It was a very different scene from the day before, that had Clijsters looking bewildered as she realized she had beat Serena Williams in a match decided by her opponent’s point penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct.

But Clijsters stunning victory, which came just a few hours after watching Ice Age with her daughter, won’t eclipse what the she finds most important. “It’s the greatest feeling in the world being a mother,” Clijsters said. “I just can’t wait to spend next the few weeks with [Jada] and have her routine schedule at home again.”
