michael jackson kids memorial 231x300 MJs Wrongful Death Suit Hits A Snag With the criminal investigation still pending, the Jackson family is moving ahead with plans to file a civil suit against the doctor who admittedly administered the fatal dose of Propofol that killed Michael Jackson. Is the ever-growing pool of Jackson offspring headed for an unprecedented payday?

Surprisingly enough, the answer is: probably not. One of the key elements in a wrongful death suit is that the immediate family (whoever that includes) can sue for economic losses — lost income, basically.

Unfortunately for Prince Michael, Paris, and Blanket (and maybe Omer), that lost income is going to be almost impossible to argue in this particular case. Why? Because Michael Jackson is having a record year in terms of income.

That is to say, there’s little doubt that his death has resulted in a major economic gain… not a loss.

Now, does that mean that you can’t sue a doctor for administering the insanely dangerous drug that killed you father if you profit from the death? No, but it does take a pretty large bite out of the prospective judgment.
