50 Cent: Yo, Call Me Curtis
Don’t call him Two Quarters, either. 50 cent no longer wants to be referred to by his stage name. The rapper says he wants to be called by his real name, Curtis Jackson. Personally I’ve always called him Fiddy but he hates it when I do that.
The reason for the name change? Jackson no longer wants his troubled past to be the only thing associated with his career. “The aggression that translated the strongest in my first album is what hip-hop culture looks for. It’s a persona,” he said. “I’m not under the same circumstances I was under when I worked in music, so it feels completely different.”
I wonder if his kids can still call him ‘dad’? And just out of curiosity, what do his kids’ friends call him? Mr. Cent? Inquiring minds want to know.
