Kate “Hides” $80K In Trust For The Kids
One of the hot spots in the surprisingly civil divorce between Jon and Kate has been finances. Namely, Kate was given control of the couple’s money and Jon has accused her of hiding at least $80,000 in a “secret” trust. Responding to the allegations, Kate has revealed that this evil trust fund was actually set up for the Gosselin kids. Nice try, Jon.
From the NY Post:
“When Jon and Kate first announced their divorce, Jon was convinced a large sum of money had been hidden from him. Kate has always been in control of their negotiations with TLC and handled the money from the deal.
“Jon believed she had moved a large sum into a secret trust. His attorney gave her a deadline to reveal where the money is, and she complied,” the source continued. “The cash is currently in a trust for the children’s future.”
Apparently, after that revelation the couple is now making positive steps to finish their divorce negotiations like a couple of bonafide grown-ups. Good for them.
Not to take up for Jon, but even though he’s been a real douche off and on… Kate should be obligated to explain what happened to the $80K that mysteriously disappeared — whether she blew it on a new Mercedes or donated it to UNICEF.
