Annika Sorenstam Says Parenting Is Harder Than She Thought It Would Be
Ahh, where have we heard that before? Parenting is so hard, oh wait, maybe that was me, this morning, while fighting with my six-year-old to get ready for school.
Annika Sorenstam gave birth on September 1st and she already thinks it’s hard, different than she though it would be. She didn’t realize how much there was to do, every minute of the day.
She wrote: It is Monday of Labor Day weekend and we are enjoying a quiet day at home. The last week has been incredible and calling our experience life changing would be putting it mildly. Mike’s parents just left and we will miss their help, especially Jill at night! We are now officially on our own as parents.
There is no manual, DVD or virtual aid on how to take care of little Ava, only common sense and lots of love. We are progressing each day and continuing to learn the ropes.
Despite all the “warnings” I don’t think we realized how much there is to do with a new born. One minute it’s feeding time; the next it is time for a diaper change and then nap time. The cycle then starts over every two- three hours. During the nap time, we try to catch up on the house hold duties, e-mails or the needed rest.
However, despite all of that, I love it! Being a Mom is the most rewarding and satisfying thing I have ever done.
Best wishes to all of you.
Little does she know that there will always be something to do.
Congrats, Annika and Mike.
