DJ AM and Travis Barker survived a horrific plane crash almost one year ago, and now that DJ has passed away of a possible drug overdose, Barker is opening up about the loss that he feels.

Travis and DJ were very close – like family - and the Blink 182 drummer took to his Twitter page to express his sadness.

He wrote, “Don’t know how I am gonna play 2night but I am for AM.  My brother is gone. I love u and miss u, I’ll never forget all the good times we had.”

He added: “I’ll never forget everything we’ve been through and every time I play the drums, I’ll think of you. U were an amazing friend/DJ/human being.

Travis and DJ, were both so thankful “to be alive” after the crash.  And now that DJ (real name Adam Goldstein) is gone, Barker is struggling.

“Rest in peace, my brother.  This really f***s me up.”

Barker’s ex, and mom of his kids, Shanna Moakler, told Us that she wasn’t sure how her ex-husband will handle this tragic news.

“My deepest condolences are to DJ AM — he was a great artist and will be severely missed.  My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. My support and love goes out to Travis as I know hard this is for him and how close they were.”

Maybe this tragedy will stop all the BS between Travis and Shanna.  Maybe they’ll realize life is sometimes too short and they need to grow up and think of their own family and children before taking their disputes to the Internet.
